Emerson, 1 month

This little pumpkin is 1 month old today!  Can you believe it?  It's already been a month.

She's already been to sick bay once because she was really congested and while that was only when she was 2 weeks old, she's still working on getting over that one completely.

Outside of sick bay, she was there another time recently because she's just not always keeping her feedings down at night.  I wasn't sure if it was something I was doing or it if it was still the congestion causing an issue.  Either way, we basically learned that we just have to watch it and deal with it as it comes up, but from when the dr. said it wasn't something medically wrong from what he could tell.  My supply is threw the roof so, that seems to be the main reasons feedings come back up.

She's growing like a weed, though and she's keeping down what she needs.  When we were at the dr. last week she was almost 2 pounds over her birth weight!  I couldn't believe it!  She's doing great!  But I have to say that this is also quite sad because that means that she's already growing out of some outfits!  Seems so fast!  Oh and diapers too!  Went from newborn diapers to size 1 diapers in like 15 days or something.

Outside of those things, we are doing quite well.  She's a great baby.  Sleeping 2 to 4 hours at a time and a lot of times sitting right at that 3 hour mark which is nice.  Nights haven't been too rough over these last few days.  They were a little rough there for a minute because she was vomiting at night.  We think we're helping that with limiting her nursing time and substituting her need to suck with a pacifier.  We had to do this with Coen at some point and it just seems that we're doing it a little earlier with E.  Either way, it's working.

She's really not fussy.  She doesn't mind when Coen body slams her to get his kisses in and she even hasn't minded Toby's kisses either.  She's a cuddle bug, but loves her bouncy chair, swing and rock n play as well.  She doesn't mind hair bow or headbands.  She sleeps well during the day and boy does she have some really awake moments during the day too.  It's great to see those moments become more and more frequent so that we can start to talk to her more and read to her more too.  "She's very alert" seems to be what everyone thinks when they visit during the day.  It's cute.

Coen is still being so good with her.  Did I mention that he calls her "Meme" and whenever he hears her, he calls out her name?  Well, he does and boy is it just the cutest thing.  We're still working on sharing mama's lap and being gentle when rocking, but outside of that, he's doing great.  He loves her and you can see that already... I love how close they are!

This month, Emerson has celebrated her first Labor Day, has been to her first Ovarian Cancer walk, has watched her first OSU game, has visited Target, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, has met her Uncle Colin for the first time, has had two blow outs that have gone up her back, has met MANY of our friends and family in just the short amount of time, has attended the Delaware County Fair and attended Brown Jug day at the fair as well.  It's been a big month!

We've had a great month.  I cannot believe it's already been a month (a whole month!)... but we cannot tell you how excited we are to see what is in store for us.

Until then...

Good Lord she is gorgeous!! What a beautiful pic of her.

Stella puked ALL THE FREAKING TIME for the first 4-6 months (I honestly don't remember when it got better)...but they said it just happens to some kids, it wasn't reflux, just have a burp rag and extra outfit handy at all times. As long as they're gaining weight, it's okay.

That stroller pic is crazy - your new reality!!

Fun to see an update from you!

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

clomid vs. follistim

(IUI #4)

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "letters, 1", stating:

"what are the statistics on follistim v. clomid or other oral egg-enhancing drugs?"

Before I responded, I went on webmd.com just to make sure I knew what I was talking about.  {Nothing like going through a medical procedure, thinking you know everything and then letting an Anonymous comment send me off my track. ha!}

Disclaimer: I'm not a dr. nor do I want to be a dr.  This is what I understand to be the difference.  This isn't fact, other than the links I'm posting, it's just my understanding.  Please DO NOT take my words for fact.

This is what I knew before I did the research:

Both Clomid and Follistim are ovary stimulating drugs that tell your ovaries to produce eggs.  They are both in the same in that aspect of things.  The physical difference is that Clomid is in pill form and taken orally.  Follistim is powder to liquid that is administrated by a pen/shot.
