Prepping & Planning

Coen's party is approaching at rapid speed.  To say that I'm prepared is a bit of an understatement.  I have some really great ideas, but have not put a lot of them into place just yet and it's going to be on Sunday!

I have this board on Pinterest that is for "1st Birthday Ideas" and then I have this other board that is just for "Let's Party" ideas that I've also packed with some great ideas.  I have a few items that I'm following through with but other things are just being pushed to the side since I really don't have the time or funds to create it all.

So, what's my plan so far?

  • Create a balloon wreath, which I have a portion of the supplies for and hang this on the front door.
  • Buy a #1 and decorate this in scrap-booking paper to hang in the house somewhere. Haven't decided if it will be apart of the wreath or just an extra item that hangs in the house somewhere.
  • Print all of his block pictures to show the progression of his growth and hang them on the hallway wall in the living room. (Using small clothes pins and twine from my baby shower.)
  • Decorate the kitchen table with brightly colors items and wonderful food for everyone to enjoy.  I'm still on the fence on whether we are going to grill (because it could be really hot) or just have crock pot options. What would you do instead of grilled food?  Shredded chicken sandwiches, pulled pork and mac n cheese were the options I was thinking about.  Thoughts?
  • Cake pops for the cake, instead of a cake that no one will eat.  We are also ordering a special cupcake from our favorite bakery in Powell that will serve as Coen's "smash cake".
  • We will have the wagon in our house that will serve as the location for gifts, as long as they all fit in the wagon.  Could be a little tricky, but could look really cute.
  • We will string streamers from the deck/pergola in various places to add color and flare outside.
  • We should be getting a new patio table that is rectangular that will serve as the main eating area for our guests, but we will have other tables as well to help with seating options.

We have a few things to still do before we can call it ready, so here's the prepping list for the week:
  • Clean
    • Bathrooms
    • Kitchen
      • Clean out the clutter and make the space more available for food
      • Move kitchen table to the wall and clear it off
      • Move chairs around the house to allow for more seating
      • Sweep & mop floors
    • Nurseries
      • Make presentable
    • Bedrooms
      • Make presentable
    • Living Room
      • Minimize toys and tear down the pack n play
    • The Loft
      • Make functional
  • Vacuum, dust, clean windows/mirrors and straighten where it can be done around the whole house
  • Mow the lawn & weed the beds (clean up tulip foliage & lilies)

Prepping and planning/buying starts tonight.  Wish me luck as we transform our house into the party zone that I'm hoping pleases Coen and all of our party-goers.

Cannot believe he's going to be one.

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

clomid vs. follistim

(IUI #4)

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "letters, 1", stating:

"what are the statistics on follistim v. clomid or other oral egg-enhancing drugs?"

Before I responded, I went on webmd.com just to make sure I knew what I was talking about.  {Nothing like going through a medical procedure, thinking you know everything and then letting an Anonymous comment send me off my track. ha!}

Disclaimer: I'm not a dr. nor do I want to be a dr.  This is what I understand to be the difference.  This isn't fact, other than the links I'm posting, it's just my understanding.  Please DO NOT take my words for fact.

This is what I knew before I did the research:

Both Clomid and Follistim are ovary stimulating drugs that tell your ovaries to produce eggs.  They are both in the same in that aspect of things.  The physical difference is that Clomid is in pill form and taken orally.  Follistim is powder to liquid that is administrated by a pen/shot.
