Dear Sprout... | 7 days

Dear Sprout,

According to my little tracker on this blog, there is 7 days left until your expected due date.  I've already come to the realization that you are more than likely going to surpass this said date and make for a late arrival.  As long as everything continues to stay the way that it has over the last few appointments, I'm going to keep you in there until you're ready to make your debut.

Your dad and I are very excited for your arrival and it's really been a long time in the making.  We get questions all the time about whether we're ready or not... honestly, I don't know that anyone is every really ready.  However, we've really done our very best to have everything in order for you.

Our family and friends are getting anxious about meeting you and hearing what your name is!  We had decided from the get go to keep your name a secret because we wanted to have one last surprise.  We had found out that you were a boy on December 28th and from there the only other surprise that we could keep was your name, so we did.  It's been fun hearing people guess what you name is or give us a hard time about not saying it, but we just wanted to keep it to ourselves.  When you arrive, we will shout it from the rooftops and if they don't like it... well, we don't have to hear about it because you'll be so darn cute that it won't matter what your name is anymore.

People are very creative in guessing what it might be, it's been very fun to listen to what people come up with!

This weekend is a big weekend for your Aunt Julia.  She's getting married on July 2nd and this weekend happens to be her bachelorette party and bridal shower weekend!  It's been a long time coming and we're all very excited about it happening.  I'm in the wedding party and have been part of the planning for this weekend for a few months now and cannot believe that it's finally here.  I had threatened that you might arrive before now, thus making it impossible for me to attend these functions, but so far so good.

Not only is it a big weekend for Julia but this is the weekend that I had also joked about you arriving for another reason.  Today is your great-grandfather's birthday.  We called him Dadaddy and he's my mom's father.  He was a great man and if you either shared his birthday or came close to being born on his day, that would be pretty cool.  Not only was it his birthday but tomorrow is your Uncle Geoffrey's birthday.  He's my brother and a really cool guy.  You guys will be best buds!  But again, if you arrived this weekend, you'd be surrounded by great family birthdays and I think that would be fun to have another boy birthday during that same weekend.  Not to mention the fact that it's also Memorial Day weekend!

Anyway, with all of those things said, I just wanted to say that we are very excited (yet calm) about your arrival.  We know that you'll arrive when you're ready and we hope to not have to drag you out of there.  I cannot promise anything, but we're willing to wait until about June 18th for you to arrive.  My doctor is keeping a good eye on you though and she knows that you'll come when you're ready.  If you don't... she'll help you out and then you'll be safe in our arms.  Don't worry, it's not bad out here.  I mean, it's nothing like my womb but I'm sure you'll love it and most importantly, we'll love having you here.

So... enjoy your next few days hanging out with me... We cannot wait to meet you!

Love you bunches,

Mama

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

Starting here..

I know that I haven't really updated this in a long while. I apologize. In the moments it was hard enough to survive, let alone write about it or find time to write about it.

With that said, I've told people over and over again that I'm going to write again, just not sure where to start.
So, today, I'm starting here.
My mom is terminal.
Words that I cannot believe have to leave my mouth or my fingers.
She's been battling Ovarian Cancer for well over 10 years and this last year or 8 months+ have been just the worst.  Her body is being consumed by cancer and with every day that passes we are just another closer to losing her.
She's fought this whole time and continues to beat the odds that the doctors have placed before her. She's set goals and surpassed them and when the doctors say something, it's like she mentally tells herself that it's just NOT going to happen and she flies by those measurable items.
She's been a rock star and I have known …
