Sprout | 4 days

Okay, I say for 4 days, but in all honesty I really hope it's less than that.  If it's not, that's fine.  I just hope for less.  And it's 4 days until my due date... not until his birthday.  We don't know when that will be just yet, but it is coming along.

Also, I had a BUSY busy weekend.  So busy in fact that while I might have slept an additional 5 hours during the day yesterday, I still feel like I haven't slept a wink and my body hates me for it.  I don't know what's going on but I can only hope that it's just preparing for labor and making things a little more uncomfortable as I go.

Because I was so busy and not really well rested, I'm also in a foul mood today.  Not to mention that I think I cried for an hour straight on Sunday night after everything was said and done.  I'm just not a happy camper and I've really tried to be the whole way through...

So with that... I'll leave you with 2 pictures and let you know that I'm se…

Sprout | 6 days

With Sprout's due date just 6 days away, I wanted to prepare you for how we plan to announce his arrival.

I love facebook.  It's been a great outlet to connect with old friend, old classmates, new friends and co-workers.  With that said, I don't plan on making his announcement or any inkling of his arrival until he's here.  More than likely, I won't make the announcement 1st either.  More than likely, my husband with his smart iPhone will tell the world of facebook and tag me in the photo or something.  My phone, while smart... is not that smart.

We do have a chain of phone numbers that we plan on contacting by text and a few by phone when he really does arrive and those texts/calls will happen before facebook does.  We hope that everyone will be kind and let us make the announcement to the world verses making it for us on our facebook walls.  I've thought about turning off posts to my wall in general for fear that this would happen.  I know that everyone is ex…

Dear Sprout... | 7 days

Dear Sprout,

According to my little tracker on this blog, there is 7 days left until your expected due date.  I've already come to the realization that you are more than likely going to surpass this said date and make for a late arrival.  As long as everything continues to stay the way that it has over the last few appointments, I'm going to keep you in there until you're ready to make your debut.

Your dad and I are very excited for your arrival and it's really been a long time in the making.  We get questions all the time about whether we're ready or not... honestly, I don't know that anyone is every really ready.  However, we've really done our very best to have everything in order for you.

Our family and friends are getting anxious about meeting you and hearing what your name is!  We had decided from the get go to keep your name a secret because we wanted to have one last surprise.  We had found out that you were a boy on December 28th and from there …

watch the progression....

I had put this post together in 2008, thinking I would be posting about a nursery in the near future.  Little did I know, that I would have another 2 years or more before I could really show off what we had done...

Just funny to see what we had going on in the nursery before we made it Sprout's room, (and what I was thinking about in 2008)...

Written in 7/2008:

oh and keep your fingers crossed that we have a bfp in the (near) future!!!!

the future nursery, after we first moved...(the before, above)

the future nursery, serving as another guest room... (another before pic, above)

This picture was added in Decemeber 2010 just after it was painted.  We had just received that glider from our friends along with the jumperoo thing too.  Those were the only things in the room for some time.
Now that has definately changed. (more details on the nursery to come very soon)

Sprout | Sophie Giraffe

I registered for this little gal, because I had read on so many blogs and things that it was a hit for when your baby starts teething.  I knew that it might be a fun item for someone to buy because she is so darn cute.

When I received it, I was so stoked!  It was something I thought would be so great for when our baby is just a wee bit older and starts the whole teething process.  I got it home, pulled it out of the box and boy was I surprised!  Not only are they right about the softness of the toy, but noise behind it was unbelievable.  It squeaks like nothing I've ever heard and even louder than some of our dog toys.

Which brings me to my question...

If you have this toy and have a dog, how do you ensure that your dog doesn't get his little pitty paws on it if the baby drops it?  This would be the BEST dog toy ever, based on the sound and I'm just afraid that it's going to be a game for the two of them to work on as Sprout gets older.

Thoughts? (Besides the obvious o…

Our Daycare Decision

You can view all of my posts about this topic, here.

Obviously, it's been something we've been thinking about for months.  We thought this decision would be easy and were told that once we found the one, we would just know.  Well, that is very true... however we had to explore all options before we made the final call.

Like I said... I've heard from many mom's that when you find the right person for your baby, you just know.  Sort of like "love at first site" or something... You just can hear that in their voice and body language that they are going to be the best for your baby.

Now, I'm not going to lie, when I say that I felt this with a couple of the ladies that we met with.  But, it was only at first and then it started to dwindle.  I could tell by the tone of the voice, their body language or the way they talked about our unborn son, that it was potentially going to be a good match.  If I didn't feel that way on the phone, I wasn't going to…

Sprout | Week 37 & 38

In tidbits...
Our first Farmers Market in town was this week.  The reason this is pretty exciting, is not only because I LOVE the farmers market, but because there is a future business brewing for myself and Salutations at the market and within the next few weeks, we will be selling something pretty special there.  More to come on this very soon.  You can get a sneak peek over here...
This was the week that my dr. said that I was 70% effaced too.  Thinking about that now, I'm not sure I heard her right, but it's too late now.
Saturday, (5/14) we were supposed to have some carpet cleaners come out to clean our carpets and 30 minutes before they were supposed to arrive, they called to say their machine was broken and they wouldn't be able to make it.  While this wouldn't normally be a big deal... I was 37 weeks pregnant, we had moved all of our small furniture out of the rooms we were getting cleaned and virtually everything from our living room was moved as well.  In about…

Sprout | The Nursery...

So, without further ado, I'm posting as many picture of the nursery as I can.  It's not 100% done, but it's pretty darn close and with my due date about 2 weeks (or less) away, I thought I should do this now before I don't have time to post anything...

Enjoy...
