If you've been around my blog long enough, you know that I'm a huge fan of shopping on the clearance racks.  I usually don't buy anything at full price, when it comes to clothes, because I just know that I can get it for cheaper if I wait...

With that said, I have to admit that since I've been pregnant I've started stalking websites that offer maternity clothes online and not so much in their stores... like Old Navy, Gap, Destination Maternity, and Ann Taylor LOFT.  In doing this, I've found a number of occasions where stores offer maternity underwear.  At first, my reaction was, "seriously, you've got to be kidding? why is this necessary?"... Now, almost 23 week pregnant, I've found where my normal underwear just isn't fitting right and maternity underwear sound more and more like something that I'm going to want/need.  Why, you ask?  Because my hips are spreading and where my normal underwear would fit perfectly, they are now a little snug.  Was this something that you purchased along your journey through pregnancy?  Or did you just buy a bigger size to accommodate for your growing?

Along these same lines, I have also come to realize that the idea of wearing a mini pad or maxi pad daily is becoming more and more necessary.  I haven't broken down to actually do this yet, but it's just crazy how your body changes and I can see where it's not going to get any better.  I can also see where in the future, wearing a mini pad or maxi pad could save an outfit and a pair of underwear from being soiled.

Lastly, because yesterday's bump pictures was, A. too bright with the flash, B. too easy and C. too fun, I thought I would start doing my bathroom bump pictures more often.  That way, you get to see what I'm wearing and I get to document it along the way... My goal throughout this whole pregnancy is to never appear as though I'm wearing a tent or appear extremely huge (unless that's unavoidable).  I'm wearing quite a bit of my normal tops still and every pair of maternity pants that I own.

So, for today....

Happy Thursday, hope you're staying warm.

First of all, you are adorable!!!!

I just bought bigger, lower-cut undies with a skinny waist-band. I am a Hanes Her Way kind of girl anyway, so it wasn't a big stretch for me. They worked well for me and how my body grew, but I'm sure it doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

You look the sweater! When I was pregnant, I just wore the same style of underwear (minus a thong) in a size bigger. I didn't see a need to spend the $$ on maternity underwear...

Ditto Allison. You are the cutest pregnant woman!

I also just bought some huge cheapo the Hanes kind that comes six to a pack in a plastic bag. Not at all sexy, but very comfy. My only problem is that they were so comfy that I never stopped wearing them.

Also, yeah, you think being pregnant means a break from pantyliners and pads and all that, and then you find out it doesn't. So unfair, right? But it's true.

i wore my regular undies through the whole deal, but i DID keep up with the pantyliners. that's a handy trick.

Love the bump shots. You look adorable!

I wore my normal underwear as long as I could, then bought a few pairs of underwear a size larger. They were more comfortable and came in handy AFTER baby too when you are stuck wearing a pad for so long.

I just LOVE bump pics!!! I did not buy ANY maternity tops because the style now is so forgiving. U can pretty much buy any top out there now and wear it with or without a belly! Maternity pants however were a must for me! ;)

Um, I LOVE that sweater!!!!

I'm 9 1/2 weeks and have been wearing a mini pad since my retrieval. Damn endometrin. Sounds like I should get used to it, though! (fingers crossed, that is.)

Will be curious to hear what you decide about the undies. ;)
OMG. You look SO CUTE. SO cute.

I just bought a size-up of chonies (as we call them in MX).

First of all, you look great! Secondly,I just bought larger size panties. I never did buy any maternity panties. I was able to wear them after for a little while until my stomach shrunk and my hips started going back. Hope that helps.
You look so cute! Love the outfit and love seeing your bump!

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

Starting here..

I know that I haven't really updated this in a long while. I apologize. In the moments it was hard enough to survive, let alone write about it or find time to write about it.

With that said, I've told people over and over again that I'm going to write again, just not sure where to start.
So, today, I'm starting here.
My mom is terminal.
Words that I cannot believe have to leave my mouth or my fingers.
She's been battling Ovarian Cancer for well over 10 years and this last year or 8 months+ have been just the worst.  Her body is being consumed by cancer and with every day that passes we are just another closer to losing her.
She's fought this whole time and continues to beat the odds that the doctors have placed before her. She's set goals and surpassed them and when the doctors say something, it's like she mentally tells herself that it's just NOT going to happen and she flies by those measurable items.
She's been a rock star and I have known …
