Sprout's Route | Week 22

Seriously, one of the best moments of my week!  And, now I completely understand why someone else can't really help you understand what it feels like.  It's unreal and I have to say that I LOVE IT!

When I first felt movement, I really wasn't sure what was going on.  After a few days, I was sure of what was going on.  I also had this overwhelming feeling that while I was really happy to feel movement, I also wanted my husband to feel it.  I didn't feel that it was fair to feel something that he couldn't.  He's been so involved the whole way through that I didn't like being a step ahead of him.  Little did I know that just about 4 days later, I was going to be feeling it from the outside (faintly) and he would feel it too.  Talk about another great moment!  So unbelievable!

So, how am I feeling? MUCH MUCH MUCH much better.  I'm still working on a little tickle in my throat, but other than that, I'm blaming the things that have stuck around from my cold on pregnancy.  I have a mucus that sticks around, but nothing that is awful.  I'm just glad to be off the meds.  I cannot help but think that taking those meds made me feeling the movement a little delayed.  Either way, I'm glad to be feeling better.

Weight: My weight still seems good.  I'm not feeling like I'm gaining and the scale isn't moving too much.  It is moving, but not at rapid speed so I'm happy about that.

Food: For the most part is still my friend.  I did have a dish for my friends birthday at a restaurant and it was just WAY too spicy.  Something about it gave me this uncontrollable urg to vomit.  So I had to not eat that meal.  We have found that the $1.00 sundae's at McD's are fabulous and help cure a little sweet tooth from time to time.  I'm pretty happy about that!

Animals: Our cat has started to piss me off.  He wakes up about 1am and starts jump on the pillow behind me to the nightstand and then it happens over and over again.  I lock him out of room and at first it was great.  He'd sleep somewhere else and we'd never hear from him until we started making noise.  Now, he's discovered how to put his paw under the door and shake it.  It happens and it scares the CRAP out of both of us.  We're working on how to avoid this, right now we're trying cat nip.  Wish us luck.

This week, Sprout is the size of a papaya or a spaghetti squash, depending on what you reference!  I'm not sure what that means by a papaya exactly because that seems small for a baby that should be measuring about 11 inches and 1 pound!  I don't know, I guess I need to look into what a papaya looks like.

Like I've mentioned in my other posts this last week, the weather around these parts have been pretty decent winter weather days.  As of today, we're supposed to get about 1 to 2 inches of snow.  This would be fine, if we didn't already have about 5 on the ground.  Oh and the fact that I wore flats today instead of snow boots is awesome!

Anyway, that's all for now.

Happy Monday!

Hooray for movement!!! That's awesome! And you're lucky that your DH could feel it so soon after you did--C had to wait a few weeks after I started feeling movement before we could detect any from the outside

So glad you are feeling better.

How great that you are feeling movement! ...and that your husband can share in that feeling with you too. It's the best thing ever.

I'm so happy for you!

I felt the first movement at 23 weeks. You'll start feeling him more and more. How fun!!!
Put a wash cloth in the door. That's what we had to do when Titus started shaking our door when he was locked out. It helps!

Awwww, how wonderful. And I'm glad you are getting over your cold and can really enjoy this new experience.

Also, I posted a blog last week with awards and then totally forgot to tell people about it. Soooo, while it's late, I have an award waiting for you!

I was all about spicy food with Isaac, but it hasn't been my friend this time. :(

ALL of our animals are pissing us off currently. :(

Yay for movement!

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

Starting here..

I know that I haven't really updated this in a long while. I apologize. In the moments it was hard enough to survive, let alone write about it or find time to write about it.

With that said, I've told people over and over again that I'm going to write again, just not sure where to start.
So, today, I'm starting here.
My mom is terminal.
Words that I cannot believe have to leave my mouth or my fingers.
She's been battling Ovarian Cancer for well over 10 years and this last year or 8 months+ have been just the worst.  Her body is being consumed by cancer and with every day that passes we are just another closer to losing her.
She's fought this whole time and continues to beat the odds that the doctors have placed before her. She's set goals and surpassed them and when the doctors say something, it's like she mentally tells herself that it's just NOT going to happen and she flies by those measurable items.
She's been a rock star and I have known …
