stay tuned

I have a massive post coming, it's got a lot of good information in it and I hope that you enjoy it.

It's taken me about 2 days to get it all together and I'm just not ready to post it..

So, stay tuned...

are you sick of me yet?

This is what I've done so far and it all started here, for the month or April anyway.

If you haven't noticed, I'm posting daily and it's because of NaBloPoMo.  Now, technically November is the month where everyone should be apart of the challenge and blog daily, however, they do encourage it throughout the year.  So April seemed like the right month for me and I'm doing it!

So, are you sick of it?  Do you love it?  Hate it?  Want it to be less frequently?

**** warning**** Lots of pictures to follow...

For those of you that might follow me on my Google Reader or know me in real life, you might know that I have a real appreciation or LOVE for photography.

I like to think that I'm a good photographer too, however, I don't have a fancy camera, just simply a point and shoot, Kodak Share digital.  It does the job and captures the moments or memories that I desire, however, it's just not the quality that it could be.

While trying to give my blog a little face lift, I have come across two people who have been in my life for a little while now, but now they are fitting into new roles.

First, Trish.  As you'll read in her most recent post, she's taking a class that's going to help her design not only for her company but for you too!  She's been an acquaintance for about 7 years now.  In the last 3 years we've grown a nice little business relationship through all of her beautiful creations, then a friendship and no…

Sites from yesterday's travel...

The Detroit Airport tunnel...

Another view... (not my photos)

Some din-din... Boy, do I miss this place!
And then home.
Today is going to be a little rough, but I'm drinking coffee and cranking along.  Hopefully I'll have some of my own photos to share with you later this week!  I'm really bad about updating this blog with current photos, but I'll do my best.
On a positive note, I ran 2.06 miles last night, without ANY walking or stopping!  It felt great and might be the longest that I've run all year!  We've talked about doing a 5k in about 3 weeks but I don't think it's going to happen.  We're running for ourselves now and not for the races... we'll if that changes as the nice weather continues to be upon us!
Happy Monday!

We're returning home from VT today.

I've been looking forward to this trip for MONTHS!  Not only are we going to see some of our good friends get married in a beautiful little town, but we're also going alone.  We won't know but a few people at the wedding so it will give us time to explore and site see when we're not attending the wedding festivities.

We were there a few years ago, but this trip will be very different from the last.  It will be fun to have our own adventures and to see some more of this town that we didn't get to do the last time we were there.

Can't wait to share with you all the details of our trip, once we're back and have everything together...

music memories

Music plays a huge roll in my life.

The reason this has come up again is because I was watching a show with my husband about DMB (The Dave Matthews Band).  We were talking about when we first remember hearing his music and what an impact it has been in our lives.  We don't have any step of our relationship that we can't relate a DMB song to.  He's always been around and his music is just un-like anything we know or listen to...

I often have always had the ability to pick out a good song on the radio or maybe in a movie or tv show that feels good to me and lately, we've just been running to i-tunes to buy them, almost immediately.

Now, I'm not a widow but this is a good example of a song that I heard and had to buy immmediately.  This song just hit me when I listened to it and since buying it, I'm always reminded of the pain that others experience and how grateful I should be for my life.

Another example of a song that brings me to instant memory is Strawberry W…

class update

I just wanted to note two things about my class.

1. One of the students in my class graduated from high school in 2007.

2. 2 of the students were my husband's former students.

Way to make someone who doesn't seem that old, feel really old.

Happy Friday!

I'm trying very hard to pay attention to what food I put in my mouth.  It's not always easy because I LOVE food, but I'm giving it a try.

Lately, I've been enjoying a little bit of this...

The vanilla almond kind...
To make me some of this...

Yummy!  Try it, you too will love it.  However, to be honest, I put about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the granola in with the yogurt for some good crunch!

I just wanted to send a little shout out to Wendy, at A Couple More Hours, for not only picking my name for her drawing but also for her cute creative ways...

Check out her shop for more cute stylish dolls.

I just wanted to tell you about my love for ruffles...

Not this kind...

But this kind...

I love them, all of them and want them all!  I don't have very many but I have them on my wish list.  Just have to make the effort to buy more of them... So pretty, classy yet fun and flirty!

So, I've been debating about writing about this, since it's a more private moment and it's not even mine to share.

Someone I know, fairly closely (related by blood), had a miscarriage.

I didn't find out from her.  I didn't find out from her husband.  I didn't find out from her family.  I didn't even find out from MY family.  Well, I sort of found out from my family.

Follow me here.....

My sister's, good friend's mom, is friends with this person's mom.

When it happened, apparently it was a huge deal in their family and everyone was trying to get involved.  Trying to take care of her and make sure they were okay.  It didn't turn out well, because she just wanted to be alone.  She wanted to be at home with her husband and have no one bother her or them.

She didn't answer her phone, she didn't call people back, she wasn't communicating in any way and because of that people started to really tear into them.  They were saying that th…

Coffee & Mayonnaise

This is something that my instructor shared in our class the other night and I felt that it was something I wanted to share with all of you...

You have probably read about this before or maybe received it by forward in an email.

Either way, I liked it and wanted to share it.

The Mayonnaise Jar and Two Cups of Coffee
When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professo…

Found some new (to me) research.

It's about Soy.

Just wanted to drop a teaser.

I'll be back later with more...

Big Wonders...

Do you ever catch yourself thinking about something and while you'd like to ask your friends or your co-workers, it's probably not the easiest thing to bring up in conversation?  It might be so silly to another person that you just keep it to yourself and when you think about it another time, you think, I've got to just ask someone...

I have these thoughts from time to time and I think that I've come to a point in my blog, that I'm just going to start putting them out there and see how you all respond.

My current wonder...

How did you determine how you were going to discipline your children?

How DO you discipline?

Depending on the age...

Do you use a "time-out" or "think-step"?

Do you take things away?

Is there one person that does most of the disciplining in your family?

I'm sure most of the time, you have to just do a few steps and then your problem is solved.  I'm sure there are other days when you do everything and it's still not…

being calm

Last month, when we were trying, I finally was able to just relax.

We're still using the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor and have reset it from the first cycle that we used it.  We're now onto the third cycle using this thing.  Like I've said before, it's not telling me anything I didn't already know, however, it's just more accurate and keeps us on track.

It feels to be relaxed as that's not normally how I feel especially when we're gearing up for another cycle, however, I'm just calm, and that's BIG.

It will work.  It's not easy.  But it will work.  We know that it will.  We just have to keep trying.

Alright ladies, you know how I feel about this.

It's a big deal and it effects so many more woman & families than you would EVER realize.

Join the movement today!

Big Rain Drops...

..... require some big'ol rain boots.

We're going to a wedding in April in Vermont and from what I understand, it's supposed to be "mud season" up there during that time.  I don't know what means exactly, so what I envision is just mud and slosh everywhere.  So in order to prepare, I decided that I need to bring a pair of rain boots with me.

I didn't have a pair and while I would like a pair, I haven't purchased them yet.  I was talking to my sister and she said that she had two pairs that she was going to be getting rid of, so for me, it was perfect timing!  I went and picked them up from her yesterday and today, we have big'ol rain drops!

So this morning, I pieced together some items that would match with my boots and I'm sporting them proudly today, even though my husband wasn't really a fan, this morning...

So far, they seem to be a hit in the office with just about everyone!  I like to think that they are complimenting me on them bec…

Last Thursday, my husband got the opportunity to step foot back into the Mellon Arena, one. last. time.

While they are stoked about the new arena, his friends gathered for the last game and enjoyed every moment that they could together as born-and-raise Penguins fans should.

It was a big day for them and will hold many memories for them as friends.
