nutty

Just a few things to keep you all in the loop:

1. I've set up some blog entries that are going to post here for the next few weeks. Not everyday just when I've scheduled them. The reason for this? Well, I've just got a lot on my plate right now and a few weeks back I had some spare time so I kept those posts back for when I knew this time was going to arrive. Most are going to include the "Food on Friday" and the "EtSy.LoVe for the week", everything else will be a surprise!

2. We're having a garage sale on Saturday. It's not something that we were really planning on doing but we made commitment and now we're going full speed ahead to clean out everything and get rid of whatever we can. It's not something that my husband or I have ever done and what we are learning it that it's just a little more time consuming that we anticipated but we're getting through it. Tonight we should have everything set and ready to roll for Saturday morning. We're looking forward to it and have some great things we are trying to sell for a steal of a cost. We just want to get rid of this stuff.

3. Why? You might ask. Well, we are fortunate enough to be able to open our house up to some family members that need a little help with getting back on their feet. There are a lot of details, plans and emotions that go along with this. None of which I'm going to express on my blog for their privacy. But as a result, it's forcing us to get rid of things that we don't use or don't want any longer.

4. What does this mean? Well, luckily for us, we have a first floor master with two bedrooms, a full bath and a loft upstairs that can and will serve as their living quarters. Because that is where they'll be staying, we have to clear out everything that we have and store up there. 2 bedrooms, one that serves as a game room and another that is a guest room, as well as the loft, where we can.

5. How many weeks have you had to plan for this? Well, we offered the option back in June maybe earlier. It came to a more official close a few weeks ago and we have had about 3 weeks to prepare and clean for the move that will happen next weekend.

6. How long are we expecting these house guests? We aren't sure, but we are more than happy to help. They can stay as long as they need to and we will make it as comfortable as possible. I'm expecting that it will be until Christmas, at the minimum.

7. And, as if we need something else to worry about, our basement flooded (a little) this morning. The basement that used to be filled with just a few boxes for holidays and childhood items that we are holding onto that is now filling up with other items from our house guests and storage that was in the closets/rooms from upstairs. Luckily for us, we caught it when we did and it was thanks to my husband. For whatever reason, he checked the basement before he left his morning and found that our sump pump had burnt out and the motor was dead. Perfect timing, not only because of the storage that it now down there but it also rained all night and off/on all days yesterday. My husband replaced it with a new sump pump and hooked up the dehumidifier to help with the moisture that still remains down there. I'm just hoping it's dry when I get home.

8. What else is going on? Well, work is still a little nutty and I have waves where I'm just really busy and won't be able to keep up with my blog. This doesn't mean that I'm going to be done with blogging. Are you kidding? I haven't completed the intentions of this blog, therefore it's not done. Blogging will continue to be an outlet for me but it might be a little dry for a month or so. I'll do my best to keep it up to date with what's going on but I can only do so much.

9. Are you still trying? Yes, on our own. We're doing what we can when we can. With our house guests, it might be a little more challanging but we're going to work through it and hope for the best.

10. Can we see pictures of your new furniture in your house? Well, we haven't purchased it yet. With the house guests arriving next weekend, we are hopeful that we'll make the purchase in early September. Once they arrive and we have everything situated, I will be sure to post pictures.

Have a happy Monday and I'll keep you updated on everything when I have time...

Wow! You definitely are busy! Garage sales are a lot of fun, but you're right...they're also a lot of work! Best of luck with your new guests. It's very generous of you to open your house up to them!

We had our sump pump burn out when all the snow melted this spring and also narrowly avoided a basement flood. Crazy about the timing for you guys but glad it worked out well.

that nightmare

Time is passing and permanent/next step decisions AREN'T being made about where our marriage is going.

Not because of anything other than HOPE....

Hope that these changes are real.  I can't deal with an act anymore.  I'm done with those fake attempts.  It just won't work for me.  I can't.

Hope that he really wants to change.  Because he's the only one that can make that decision for himself and not anyone else.

Hope that a new normal is really a possible option.  And not just a glimmer of something that will eventually be shattered and destroyed.

Hope that we could work through all of this and actually land on our feet.  But he has to want to do those things and my guidance won't help him.  He's got to want to do them on his own.  I can't help or ask or guide.  He has to do it.  Alone and with the help of God.

Hope that the narcissistic behaviors are being dealt with in positive ways and won't resurface.  With the help of prayer, guidance from h…

my little model...

There is a blog that I follow of a photographer that I saw at the Delaware County Fair. Her studio is near my home town and her pictures are very vibrant. I enjoy looking at different aspects of photography and I like seeing how didn’t people capture pictures and scenes… I guess you could say I’m envious.

While following her blog, I saw a post that stated Calling All Furry Friends and immediately responded. I have always wanted to have Toby get professional pictures done but I just fear that I wouldn’t pick the right person to capture his personality.

Anyway, as you can read in the link above, there were a handful of photographers at Megan Morgan’s studio and they were all going to be there just to take furry friends pictures.

Of the people that were there two have uploaded their pictures and Toby is in them!

First, Megan Morgan’s blog: Weekend Workshop

Then, Holly McCaig’s blog: Dogs Everywhere

They all captured some great pictures and I can’t wait to get my hands on them so that I …

Starting here..

I know that I haven't really updated this in a long while. I apologize. In the moments it was hard enough to survive, let alone write about it or find time to write about it.

With that said, I've told people over and over again that I'm going to write again, just not sure where to start.
So, today, I'm starting here.
My mom is terminal.
Words that I cannot believe have to leave my mouth or my fingers.
She's been battling Ovarian Cancer for well over 10 years and this last year or 8 months+ have been just the worst.  Her body is being consumed by cancer and with every day that passes we are just another closer to losing her.
She's fought this whole time and continues to beat the odds that the doctors have placed before her. She's set goals and surpassed them and when the doctors say something, it's like she mentally tells herself that it's just NOT going to happen and she flies by those measurable items.
She's been a rock star and I have known …
