WW update

Last week we had our first weigh in.

I unfortunately had gained a whole .6 pounds from the first week to last week.

Today we weighed in again, I had lost 5.8 pounds for the past week!!!

A total of 5.2 for the 10 week commitment so far...

I'm very pleased and hope that it keeps coming off!!!

What a great idea?!?

I’ve frequented this website several times in a month, it’s a little addicting because there is ALWAYS a reason to make a wordle. Recently I was at the Walk for the Whisper, the Ovarian cancer walk. Like the other walks, they have sponsors there passing out information, vendors selling Ovarian cancer related items and food vendors handing out free food. While browsing around the different tables I noticed these little cards that had wordles on them that were related to cancer! How cool is that?!? I stopped to talked to the lady selling them and she said wordles are such a hit but she’s never had anyone come up to her table and know what one is… She went on to say that her daughter made her birthday party invitation with a wordle… how fun is that?!?!

Anyway, so as I have done many times in the past, this morning I went to wordle to create another master piece, this time I pulled information from my blog to create a wordle and this is what it came up with…

Pretty neat, right?

Go make on…

Walk, no RUN....

It's about to start...

Are you ready??????

Oh how I've missed thee.....

chasing pavements...

I heard this song this morning on VH1's Hit List...

It's by Adele and I really like her sounds...

Chasing Pavements

I've made up my mind,
Don't need to think it over,
if I'm wrong I am right,
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust,
i know this is love but,

If i tell the world,
I'll never say enough,
Cause it was not said to you,
And thats exactly what i need to do,
If i'm in love with you,

Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

I'd build myself up,

And fly around in circles,
Wait then as my heart drops,
and my back begins to tingle
finally could this be it

Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?

she's approaching...

AF is on her way, I can just tell.

My back hurts, I'm experiencing light cramping, I've been a bitch all week and my head aches too.

Looks like I'm going to try for a Robitussin baby this round...

Ugh... hate her.

Wish me luck!

Update: 9/25/08 late afternoon... she's here. Hate her!

Tag, You're it!

My friend Chelsea tagged me to list 8 random things about me, so here goes...

(1) I love etsy.com. I believe that I am mildly to mostly obsessed. I find myself on the etsy site daily and usually I'm not on there for anything in particular, just to look around. It's amazing what you can find on there and there is always something else to look at... My most current item that I added to my favorite list (that is 15 pages long) are these:

These are made and sold by Tumus.

(2) I love watching the change of seasons. It's something that I've experienced my entire life and without them it would just be strange. Some seem to go by fairly quickly, others stay around for too long (sometimes) and sometimes I can't stand a particular season. All in all I love the change. I love how you never know how one might show up and then all of a sudden it's gone... I dread winter because of the driving conditions but I loath for it because of snow days & blizzards that leave us a…

Freightening news....

Our local news reported this story today.

I know most of you might have newborns and you might also have dogs or other animals. Have you ever had a moment when you felt like your animal would harm your newborn or child in general?

How did you introduce them and how did your animal respond?

Very, very sad...

ORM update...

So I wrote this email to my friend and it pretty much sums up what my experience was like and what my "plan" will be...

Dear friend....

So I met with Dr. Schmidt.

He said that he wants me to have some blood drawn to check on a few things; Thyroid and something else.

From there he wants me to have a Postcoital Test done. He told me what this was, but do you know what it is?

Basically we do it, we go into the office within 24 hours and they pull a sample to see what the swimmers are doing. If they aren’t moving, spazzing out or “hitting a cement wall” he will ask me to try again the next month. During that (potential) next month I will take Robitussin, yes Robitussin that helps the cough… and it will hopefully clear up my problem and I’ll become pregnant. Apparently it breaks down your cervix mucus just like it does in your throat when you have a nasty cough. Weird, right?!?! If it doesn’t, he said that I would have to gear up for IVF. That’s it.

I’m going to take his advise a…

tis' the new craze....

Two Peas in a Pod is seriously the new craze with my friends, their friends and my family! I attended a party in July and ever since then I've had my own party and 7 more to attend. Every time I attend a party someone books a party which I can't help but attend!!!

Anyway, my party in August was a hit. I've had other home parties before but the outcome on my attendance for the purse party was a new record high. I had 40 some people invited and 22 attended! I know about 50% is a good ratio but I couldn't believe it! There was only 1 person that didn't come who said that they would, but they called! Crazy!

So from my party I received a hostess gift (picture to come) a "Boxy Roxy" in beautiful orange, brown, green and blue fabric. I also received $10 off at my show because I booked off of Jen's show and I received 75% off my first item, 50% off my second item and 50% off my third item. This rocked my socks off!!!!

From here I ordered my first item at Jen&…

bloggers tragedy

Some of my loyal readers may have noticed that I've changed things around on my side bar a bit.

First of all, I must apologize. Some of you may have used this to navigate through blogs and now those paths are gone.

What happened? Well, I discovered Google Reader.

If you don't have one of these, you totally should. You can manage your blogs with folders, you can add other sites and information in your notes, and you get updates whenever someone has added a new post to their blog. It's been a life saver. Blogger was trying to be a little more productive by adding those new blog roll links and those are nice but this is SO much better and doesn't clutter your blog...

So anyway, I'm sorry if you paths are non-existent now that my links are gone but get a Google Reader and you can add all of the paths that you need!!!

Do you know your name...

Jackson (5) posted this in her blog and it cracked me up so I'm asking you to do the same...

state of disaster

Sunday night, Ohio experienced hurricane like winds, thanks to Ike.

Many people wrote into the news station to tell their story.

The news reported that millions of Ohioans are without power and many are still without power today, almost 2 days later.

Here are some pictures of the destruction that are from a local news website:

Our neighborhood really lucked out!! Our power lines are under ground, we don't have any mature trees and if anything was blowing around, it was patio furniture or planters. Nothing too major. There was a neighbor of ours that had a swing set fall and I'm 95% sure that no one was hurt. We weren't sure that our newly planted trees and shrubs were going to hold up but after inspection yesterday, they did. We were very lucky to not have anything major happen to our house! There are many others that have damage to their house to get fixed, roofs to replace and yard to clean up.

All schools were closed yesterday, my work was shut down and many other busi…

Remember 9/11

Take a moment today to remember 9/11, the people lives that were lost, families that are still suffering, and the men and women that risked their lives to save others.

Take a moment to remember this day in history.

walk for Liz Goodman Logelin on NEXT sunday...

I have written about this blog before and it's on my reader to read whenever there is an update. Matt has a style that is just catchy. You can read his threads pretty quickly and usually they are pretty entertaining. If you haven't seen this blog before and you want to know more about the history, start here with some of the links provided.

So the reason for the post today...

Well, as Matt stats in his blog, here in this post... "The Creeps/Broads, in conjunction with the Goodman and Logelin families, are excited to announce the first “Walk around the World” in honor of Liz, to be held Sunday, September 21st at 1:00 pm in your designated time zone.

Here’s the scoop. As many of you know, Liz’s birthday is September 17th. To honor, remember and celebrate her, there will be a walk/run/crawl/any sort of forward movement the weekend closest to her birthday each year. In the future, it will become the Liz Goodman Logelin Memorial 5k Walk/Run. For the first year, it will be an i…

WW at work

Yesterday was the big day!!! I finally pulled it off!!

For the last month or so I've been reaching out to the company I work for as well as the surrounding companies to start a Weight Watchers at Work program. For those of you that have done this or helped organize one, you will know that you have to have at least 20 participants before a leader will be assigned to your location. We luckily had 22 with 18 showing up on Monday and two more to come next week.

Our meeting went well, everyone was really excited and most had already participated in this program before. We have signed up for a 10 week commitment and we are all off to a great start.

We each have a number of points that we are allowed to eat in a day, we aren't eliminating any food we are just watching the quantity and point value. We have a point finder that we can keep with us to check everything that we are putting in our mouths as well as a list of foods and an average of point count for a quick reference.

food from friends for friday: Yellow Cake with Cherry Topping

I don't know what it's called but it's SO freaking yummy and super easy too!!!

Yellow cake with whipping topping and cherries

1 box yellow cake mix ( I like Duncan Hines)
1 box cream cheese (NOT LIGHT!!)
1 can Condensed Milk
½ cup Lemon Juice ( Use the bottle not fresh )
1 large can of Cherry’s (like Comstock Pie filler)

Bake the cake, let it cool.
Beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer add the condensed milk then add the lemon juice.
Put the cream cheese mix on the cold cake and refrigerate.
Put the cherries on before serving. (I like to keep the can of cherries in the fridge so that they are cold also)

Recovery Complete...

My surgery recovery is almost 100% over and done with. As far as the physical recovery, it was worse than what I was thinking it would be. The pain in my shoulder from the gas that they pumped my stomach up with was unbearable at times. I did have a great pain killer that helped it tremendously but when I wasn't taking it or when I was asleep and it wore off, it was bad. There was one evening, right before I went to bed where it was in my shoulder but also in my ribs and I felt like I couldn't breathe. With every breath it was immediate pain and it fucking hurt. I was in tears because it was so bad!!! Eventually, (the 6th or so day) it was able to absorb or escape from my body and it was so much better!!!

My incision is about a inch long, from the middle of my belly button down to just outside of it (again, an inch or so long). I have a burn mark just under that and I think is from the laser. Definitely an unplanned scar. I also have a tiny 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch scar on my hai…
