frustrated...

i'm on day 4 of my first round of clomid. so far so good. i haven't had anything weird happen to me. i don't feel any differently than i normally do, my moods are about the same and i really feel good. i'm a little nervous about this round because i just really want to become pregnant. we know now after sean's sa that everything is good on both ends but my dr says that we have an unexplainable reason for being infertile. it's frustrating because it's really as if our bodies are functioning but they just aren't communicating at the same time.

another thing that is frustrating and also really self-fish, i'm really tired of random people becoming pregnant. i know that horrible to say because really the more babies the merrier, right? but seriously, my crazy non-pregnant emotions are sometimes hard to control. i'm totally just jealous and envious of these girls. i'm jealous that their bodies can just do it on their own, sometimes with…

clomid starts...

yesterday, 2.25.08, i started taking clomid. i got a call from my doctor and she said that sean's test was good and there was nothing wrong. all of my test were good and clear also so she said that it's an unexplained issue and potentially clomid will help. she said that i am already ovulating and that isn't what we are using clomid for, we'll be using it to rev up my system to get ready to try. she said that i take it on the 4th - 9th day of my cycle.

it doesn't have many side effects that i'm really worried about.

Side Effects of clomiphene include:

Ovarian hyperstimulation, ranging from mild, with enlarged ovaries and abdominal discomfort; to moderate, additionally causing nausea, vomiting, or shortness of breath; to severe and life-threatening.
Hot flashes.
Irritability.
Nausea, abdominal pain.
Headaches.
Thick cervical mucus, which sperm cannot travel through. This can be reversed with medication or bypassed with intrauterine insemination.

worry wort...

so we are on cycle 16 and we are just playing the waiting game right now (2ww). i did have another progesterone test done and everything looked good. meaning i ovulated when i was supposed to ovulate but the test doesn't give any indication of whether or not i'm actually pregnant. that part of it makes me start to worry. so i called this morning just to make sure that i was right about the information. so technically i could be pregnant right now but she said to wait out until the 35 day and then start testing... wwwahhhh? 35th day? are you serious? do you know who you are talking to? i mean seriously. i'm surprised i haven't purchased a test already. i'm always an early tester and i haven't really done it any other way. i don't think that i mentally can! i get so anxious that if i don't i begin to go a little nuts. i know that it only adds stress and that is what potentially makes your cycles fall behind but i can't help it.

i am also a little wor…

the new do...

i got my hair cut! again! i know, it's a pretty regular thing. i go just about every 8 weeks to get it cut and then every 16 weeks i get it colored too! i love my hair stylist! she's fabulous! seriously, i love my hair and wouldn't ever change, unless it's necessary because of moving! i've been going to her for almost 17 years maybe more... it's crazy!

my new do, is my favorite by far! i've had short hair for about a year now and just recently i decided i was going to grow it out. it's quite a process and it's definitely not my favorite thing... i've had some not so great do's along the way but that is not because of my hair stylist, it's because i'm growing my very short hair out! =)

anyway, i love it. i'll have to post pictures later. it's very similar to the katie holmes look. dark, rich, chocolate brown, bob cut, with swoopy bangs. i love it!!

great job connie, i love you and i love my new do!!!

please come a support...

As most of you know, my mom is an Ovarian Cancer SURVIVOR!!!! She has been battling cancer for almost a year now and is doing very well. Throughout this time I have appreciated all of the support and donations (for the Whisper Walk) that you have all shared, it has really meant a lot to me and my family!

My sister (Julia Wylie), along with Dublin Dance Centre, is sponsoring a benefit for Ovarian Cancer called the "Miracle Dancer". It will be performed by the faculty/guest artists of Dublin Dance Centre and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Cancer Services at Riverside Methodist Hospital (which is where my mom is going for her care).

Attached you will find all of the information and if you have any questions, please let me know.

I would love for you all to come or at least help us spread the word about this event. It would mean a lot to me for you to forward this email to anyone who might enjoy the opportunity to support cancer research, as well as enjoy this evening d…

homemade mac 'n cheese

This is a recipe that my mom and I both love. It's great for large groups or even for a smaller group (and lots of left overs) because it has SO many servings. It's really good, enjoy!

Homemade Mac 'n Cheese

3 cups Macaroni (uncooked noodles)
1 large container Cottage Cheese
1/2 lb (or more) Velvetta
1 stick of margarine
salt & pepper
Shredded cheddar to cover

Grease 9x13 baking dish. Spread the noodles in the bottom of the dish, cut up & dish out all of the other ingredients over the entire dish. Cover noodles with boiling water. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Stir carefully. Back for an additional 20 to 25 minutes more. Watch for browning on top.
